Ive recently downloaded and installed VMWare Workstation Pro for a college class of mine. The task was to install 3 guess; two servers running Server 2012, and a normal Windows 8.1 OS machine, with one of the servers being a domain controller. I have all of the machines set on the host only network type. My main issue is that i cannot get my Windows 8 machine to join the domain provided by the server. I try it and it tells me "An Active Directory Domain Controller for this domain cannot be contacted." After this problem appeared, i tried pinging the machines from each other and it just tells me that its a general failure.Ive tried a number of things and now ive run out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated.
