VSAN 2 node cluster - ROBO

Hi Guys

We're in phase of building a 2 Node VSAN6.2 Hybrid Cluster with Witness being on of of our Main Datacenters. I've a questions on networking for the same.

As VSAN VMkernel traffic should be isolated to a layer 2 non-routable VLAN, in that case how are these nodes supposed to communicate with Witness ?

Once I put my data nodes VSAN traffic on an isolated L2 non-routable VLAN, they'll be able to talk to each other but since this is a non-routable network it will not have any gateway & not advertised on the network. So I can't even add static routes on Witness coz I wouldn't have a gateway to reach the L2 non-routable network.

How are we supposed to configure this?

For Witness VSAN traffic is it advisable to use one of the VM networks or we need to have a new dedicated IP range created ?

Site A:

2xPhysical Nodes

Management Network(VLAN 210)(L3 routable)

VM Network (Trunk VLAN 210,220,230,240) (L3)

VSAN Network(VLAN450*)(L2 non-routable, Hence no gateway)

SiteB:

1xWitness node

Management Network(VLAN 110)(L3 routable)

VM Network(Trunk VLAN 110,120,130,140)(L3)

VSAN Network(VLAN120)(L3 routable)

1. How both VSAN networks are supposed to talk since VLAN450 is non-routable?

2. Do I really need to put VSAN on different network(VLAN120), why can't I use the same network (VLAN110) for management as well as VSAN?

3. Is it advisable to use one of the VLAN's which we use for VM Network as VSAN Network(As you see VLAN120 is part of VM network as well)?

4. Do we really need to have our network team create a new dedicated VLAN(IP range) created just for Witness VSAN network?

Please help me understand/fix this.

Thanks in advance.
