Hello all,
I need to run down a question that was posed to me earlier today. Suppose you have a server with 4 populated physical sockets (eg: Dell R820) and you have a 2-CPU Enterprise license. Would you even be able to assign the 2-CPU license using "Manage vSphere Licenses..." in vCenter? I didn't have place to readily test this, so I'm hoping someone can provide a quick answer.
If it did work (which I doubt), would VMware only utilize 2 of the 4 physical CPU's?
