Tried everything I can think of. After deleting every possible file and program I could except for the program I use that can't be uninstalled without creating far larger issues (and it takes huge space) I still can not free up enough memory for the update. I'm trying to upgrade Windows 10 to version 1903 which requires more memory than I can make available. I have expanded the virtual machine as far as I can so I am only left with selecting an external source to store the upgrade files. Well all of that works fine until the upgrade gets to the point where it has to restart windows which restarts Vmware and in doing that it loses the connection to the external drive where the files are so then the upgrade fails and unloads itself. I have set the particular USB drive to automatically connect to VMware upon startup but either it is not doing that or not doing so fast enough.
In a nutshell since support is ending for 1805 I need to figure out how to get 1903 installed. Open for ideas. Thanks!
